For every wave of government funding entering the scene, there'll always be opportunistic parties who'd make use of esports as a cover or means to advance their personal and/or political interests at the expense of the country's reputation, instead of genuinely helping to build the scene.
To us, everything we have in the scene right now are foundations laid down brick-by-brick by the pioneers of the scene; these are the people who've sacrificed their blood, sweat, tears and countless hours of volunteering driven by passion; they're the ones who persevered and worked their asses off to produce successful events back when there's no funding or paid jobs to speak of.
Without them, there will be no government budget. Without them, the esports scene won't be where it is today.
These opportunists will have to be called out.
This has got to stop.
IF you're genuinely looking to join us in growing the scene, please remember that esports folks are ever-willing to help out one another because we're all united by passion and working towards the same goal.
Help will always be given to those who ask for it.
